The Bronze DofE is open to anyone over in Year 9 or above. It will involve you completing the award program including, a Physical, Skill, Volunteering and Expedition section.
Walking is the most common mode of travel for the bronze award. However, with Inspired Expeditions you can choose from, Walking, paddling or riding.
The Expedition section is detailed below:
2 day, one night training weekend.
Training Modules: Navigation, Route Planning, First Aid, Emergency Procedures, Camp Craft, Expedition cooking and Nutrition, Health and Safety, Kit Requirements, mode of transport specific training.
We always make this fun and enjoyable with practical learning techniques, mixed with games and activities.
2 day, 1 night practice expedition
This will include a mixture of supervised and unsupervised planned activity where the participants will develop their skills learned in the training weekend and apply them to expedition life. All staff on these expeditions are qualified and experienced.
2 day, 1 night assessed expedition
The assessed expedition is the final part of the expedition section where the participants can prove to the assessor what they have learnt and how they have developed as young people.
