We are Aspirant members of the Expedition Providers’ Association (EPA). It was established in 2003 by companies within the youth expedition industry to share good practice.

Pharos Response

We hold the highest level of available cover with Pharos Response. Pharos provides us with 24/7 critical incident containment, helping us to respond swiftly and professionally to major incidents, whatever the situation and wherever it happens. Through telephony resilience, strategic incident management mentoring, crisis PR, trauma counselling, social media and other integrated strategic services.


Inspired Expeditions is fully compliant with the British Standards Institution (BSI) 8848: A specification for adventurous activities, expeditions, visits and fieldwork outside the UK. This stipulates that one person or organisation is identified as the ‘expedition organiser’ and takes responsibility for all aspects of the trip including safety. When we use outside suppliers for any aspect of our expeditions; transport, accommodation or a specific activity – they also follow the strict requirements of the standard.


Inspired Expeditions has recently been awarded Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge after an inspection in early November 2017. The badge is awarded to those providers who have been independently assessed against strict criteria that require the delivery of high quality expeditions with effective risk management procedures and commitment to engage in an ongoing process of delivering quality learning outside of the classroom.


Inspired Expeditions is licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority to provide outdoor adventure activities to young people under the age of 18 years in the UK. Our license number is L13506.


Adventuremark is a non-statutory safety accreditation scheme devised by the Adventure Activity Industry Advisory Committee for providers of adventurous activities that are outside the scope of the Adventure Activity Licensing regulations. Inspired Expeditions passed their inspection
for Adventure Mark in November 2017.


Our partnership with Remote Medical Support provides our teams with remote medical advice form a team of medical specialists 24/7. This means that while on expedition you will be able to speak directly to a doctor if you need to.


Inspired Expeditions holds Business level membership for GEOS services through our SPOT Gen 3 trackers. GEOS has been the leading global provider of safety and response solutions since 2007. They offer the most complete, travel safety and membership services to thousands of global clients. Each of our Silver (in ‘wild country’) and Gold groups will have a one of these devices whilst on expedition.


Inspired Expeditions belongs to the South Wales Outdoor Activities Providers Group (SWOAPG). SWOAPG is the representative organisation for providers of Outdoor Adventurous Activities in the South Wales area. It represents its membership to a wide variety of public sector bodies and other organisations, ensuring a collaborative and positive approach to activity provision and development.


Inspired Expeditions is an Approved Activity provider for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. We have a wealth of experience of delivering DofE activities. We offer a range of destinations for our participants to undertake Bronze, Silver & Gold expeditions in the UK and abroad. These are carefully planned to meet all ’20 conditions’ set by the DofE. We hold licences for: Walking, Mountain Biking, Paddling, Horse Riding, Overseas Expeditions & DofE Residential\’s.


Our Senior Management team have all attended the Offsite Safety & Management (OSSM) Course, we are also able to run the OSSM course in-house.


The National Navigation Award Scheme (NNAS) is a personal performance, non-competitive, incentive scheme for all ages to learn navigation skills and gain confidence to get out and enjoy the countryside.


Our MD holds the World renowned Level 4 Certificate Leadership and Management


We are an approved Assessment Centre (AAC) for Sports Leaders UK. As an AAC we are able to run nationally recognised qualifications such as the BEL and BEAL qualifications.

We are partners of the Foreign Commonwealth Office (FCO) Know Before You Go campaign. We monitor the advice from the FCO on all our destinations before and during expeditions and will divert a team if the FCO advise against travel for any reason. All of our Expedition Leaders receive a 20% discount on purchases made at Cotswold Outdoor and our participants receive a 15% discount.
